Mr. Pfaltzgraff has more than 20 years of experience practicing environmental law and litigation at the federal, state, and local levels. In particular, his areas of focus have included advising clients on the Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, solid and hazardous waste (CERCLA and RCRA), and land and property use laws and regulations.  Mr. Pfaltzgraff is well-versed in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and has handled the swift resolution of numerous NEPA matters.

Prior to joining the environmental practice at Jennings Haug Cunningham, Mr. Pfaltzgraff served as the Director of the Colorado Water Quality Control Division where he led the organization’s large regulatory oversite department, which oversees all aspects of water quality in the state. Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Colorado Attorney General where he was the legal advisor to the Water Quality Control Division and the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Divisions, which were responsible for a broad spectrum of environmental law and policy issues related to water quality, solid and hazardous waste and radiation control in Colorado. 

Mr. Pfaltzgraff served in the United States Air Force from 1986-2010 where he was an Aircrew Member, Aircraft Technician and officer in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG). During his years of service he was awarded numerous medals and commendations, including Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait; Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan; and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. 

He joined Jennings Haug Cunningham in August 2020.
