Jennings Haug Cunningham Partner Chad Schexnayder Named Chair-Elect of the American Bar Association’s Fidelity and Surety Law Committee

PHOENIX (July 31, 2019)-Jennings Haug Cunningham is pleased to announce that Chad Schexnayder, a veteran partner with the firm's surety and fidelity law practice, has been selected as the Chair-Elect of the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee (FSLC) for 2019-2020. The FSLC is a division of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS), and is widely recognized as the industry's leading organization, dedicated to the development, study of, and expertise in practice and improvement of the application of justice concerning matters relating to fidelity and surety.

In 2020, Mr. Schexnayder will assume the chair of the national committee and serve a one-year term in that capacity. The honor of serving as FSLC chair is bestowed upon individuals who have developed successful law practices, demonstrated leadership in the fidelity and surety industry and supported the professional development mission of the ABA and its committees.

At Jennings Haug Cunningham, Mr. Schexnayder has amassed more than three decades of experience in commercial litigation in both state and federal court civil cases. His trial and litigation experience includes complex business disputes, Surety & Fidelity law matters, construction law, bankruptcy, real estate disputes, residential construction defects, and personal injury defense. In addition, he serves as a mediator and arbitrator retained by the parties in commercial litigation.

Mr. Schexnayder has been an active member of the ABA for nearly 35 years. During that time, he has served on national panels, including prior service as vice-chair of the FSLC, contributed his expertise as both author and editor of numerous ABA and surety industry publications, and has appeared as a speaker at dozens of professional development conferences across the nation.

During his tenure as chair, Mr. Schexnayder will work with other lawyers, consultants and industry claims professionals to produce a full calendar of national educational & networking conferences, practice guides, scholarly publications and encourage the professional development of colleagues in the surety and fidelity industry.
